Nerdalize is looking for an experienced Network Engineer to help us grow our distributed datacenter in the Netherlands and beyond.
As a Network Engineer you will be part of our Infrastructure team, responsible for rolling out a complete, stable, and secure Nerdalize SDN. You will make sure that there are no bottlenecks in the pipeline and that new possible bottlenecks are detected early on. Also, you will work on automation of our SDN environmennt and the deployment of new switches. Together with your teammates you will be involved in planning network expansions and occasionally deploying new area pops across the Netherlands. To make sure this all runs smoothly and swiftly for our customers, you will also work closely together with the Operations Team and Sales Team.
Nerdalize wants to turn the Netherlands in one big datacenter by introducing our CloudBox to more than 500,000 Dutch homes, providing them with hot water by re-using the residual heat from our servers.
To achieve this, we're creating the first large scale 10Gb/sec fiber-to-the-home in the world, and setting up the longest fiber connection in the Netherlands (>300km). This enables us to create a single autonomous system with over 2 million motherboards between them.
We like a challenge. And we hope you do too!
You are well versed in the following:
You also have proven experience working at a cloud provider, a Tier 1 or 2 ISP, or for a large enterprise network. A valid driving license for the Netherlands is a preference.
Next to this, you are an easy going person to be around, who likes to discuss new ideas, speaks up when something can be improved, and is a great time keeper. You are not the person to sit and wait around, but likes to start doing and put in some elbow grease.
